This is the weekend of Melrose's deservedly popular Home for the Holidays celebration. We like to think no place in the city celebrates it better than the Highlands Church. Here's what you'll find if you hop off that special trolley at MHCC's trolley stop on Franklin Street:
Indoor miniature golf at the Highlands Nursery School
Cookie decorating for the children upstairs in the narthex, overseen by our Middle School young people
Hot mulled cider or hot chocolate in Fellowship Hall (a chance to sit!) Spend some time with Melrose resident and director of the Center for the Study of Children's Literature at Simmons, Cathie Mercier. Talk with her about books for the children on your holiday gift list, and see her picks of the best picturebooks for 2013. Cathie has also recommended classic holiday titles and we've put together a wonderful raffle basket of these special seasonal books. We've printed her two lists of recommended titles, so be sure to pick up a copy of each to help with your holiday gift planning.
Come join us, won't you?
