Fall is here. As the leaves turn and the birds take wing, we are settling into our year. We are so glad to see the new faces in worship and delighted to be back among all of you that call the Highlands your home. Fall is a grounding time. The harvest is here, and we are preparing (dare I say it) for the winter. But first we celebrate!
We are celebrating fall at the Highlands with our very own Octoberfest. We promise to fill you with good worship and good food during coffee hour. Please wear your nametag so newcomers can get to know you. We hope you will share what nourishes you here by bringing a friend to worship or to one of our many happenings. If you need help with why to invite someone to worship, please consider the list of reasons to come to church. Click here: Reasons Why You Should Go to Church
We could use some help at the yard sale and with food on Sunday mornings. To make volunteering easy, we have set up a volunteer portal to allow you to sign up on-line. You only need to register once. If you would like to participate in the yard sale or volunteer to bring food for coffee hour, please enter here and after logging in go to signups. ENTERHERE
One of the possible events for October is Theology on Tap to be offered at a local pub. I need to gauge interest so I can make a reservation. The date is Thursday, October 2nd @ 7 P.M. and the topic is Moses, Jesus and Mohammad-One God, Three Faiths. Please RSVP to me by Monday, September 29th.
This Sunday, the Senior Youth Group is giving thanks by sharing with us the details of their trip to Washington D.C. They are an amazing group of young people.
See you Sunday.
Blessings,
Beth
