We are in the berry of the year. I went kayaking around the Isles of Shoals this past weekend with a group of paddlers. One of the old-time paddlers leading the group said, "We are in the berry of summer. The last two weeks of July and the first two weeks of August are when the fruit is ripe, sweet and ready for the plucking. The weather is fine and life is good."
Psalm 121 is one of my favorite psalms. It reminds me that God is with me wherever I might go. So as you enjoy these warm and lazy berry days, I hope you find God at the beach, on the baseball diamond, at camp and in your homes.
I'll be in the office early on Wednesday, July 22nd and then down the street at LaQ from 3-5 P.M. Please stop in if you are able.
Union services continue with worship at First Congo this weekend. The full schedule is on our home page .
Our Welcome Back Sunday is September 13. On that date our choirs return, Sunday School starts up and we welcome you all back for a time of worship and celebration. In the days in between, enjoy the break of summer and the beauty of God's good creation.
Blessings, Beth
