Happy 4th of July! Enjoy the celebration!
As you celebrate, I hope you can pause and give thanks for all those who throughout the years have sacrificed to secure our freedom. I also give thanks for all those that are working this weekend to keep us safe during the celebrations. I am so grateful for police and firefighters and all those that are working this weekend providing the security for the festivities.
God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home. Irving Berlin
There are wonderful photos from the Blessing of the Animals service up on our website. Many thanks to Jeff Hunnicut and Devon Winey for providing the photos and to Mary Edwards for her service as Steward of Communications. The Free Press published a wonderful story about the service. The office is now closed for the summer. I will be coming into the office most days to check messages and mail, and to plan for the fall. Please contact me for an appointment. Drop-in office hours are at Coffee, Tea and Me from 4-6 P.M. on Wednesdays, July 24, 31, August 21, 28. Please stop in and say hello.
My time away for professional development and vacation will take me out of the area on July 8-19 and August 5-19. Office messages will be checked during that time and pastoral care will be provided by a local pastor.
Blessings, Beth
Please join us all summer, as we worship with the greater Melrose Protestant community. Worship resumes at MHCC on August 25th.
