SUNDAY WORSHIP -- 10:00 AM Pastor: Rev. Beth Horne The worship of God is the heart of the life and ministry of the church. It centers our lives and provides the focus for all other activity and outreach. We gather as a community to recharge our spiritual batteries and receive nourishment for service to God and to God's people. Baptisms are held as part of the regular Worship Service, with infants (and others) baptized individually. Please contact the pastor for information on Baptisms at MHCC. We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month as part of the whole worship service. All are welcome at the table. The Senior Choir sings at all morning worship services and is composed of MHCC members and three paid Soloist/Section Leaders. The music for our worship services is a blend of traditional, gospel, spiritual and contemporary styles. In the fall, the choir offers a Christmas Music Sunday and in the spring a Music Sunday that highlights a major musical work. The Choir is directed by Harold Prenatt. Rehearsals are held Sunday mornings at 11:45 a.m. New members are always welcome! Choir Light is a singing group that meets and rehearses once a month on a Saturday morning and sings the next day in worship. The music is from a variety of styles including folk, spirituals, gospel, and rock. If you would like to sing, or if you play an instrument that might accompany the group, please contact Kent Vienot for more information. The MHCC Praise Band plays Christian rock music throughout the year. In the fall and spring, we offer Contemporary Music Sundays with the worship and music in a contemporary style. Bob Nasella leads the group and welcomes singers and musicians. In the unlikely event that we have a snow storm and must cancel Sunday worship services, the cancellation will be announced on WCVB-TV Channel 5. We will also use e-mail as an additional way to communicate when appropriate. |
